Gorilla census

According to the 2018 gorilla census, Uganda is home to over 600 mountain gorillas, which is half of the world’s mountain gorillas counting to roughly 1004 species.
These gorillas inhabit the jungle forests of Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga gorilla national parks.
Gorillas in these parks have been habituated into 18 gorilla families of which 17 live in Bwindi and 1 in Mgahinga.

They include Mubare, Rushegura, Kyaguliro, Bweza, Katwe, Christmas, Kahungye, Habinyanja, Nkuringo, Oruzogo, Bitukura, Nshongi, Mishaya, Busingye, Bweza, Kutu and Nyakagyezi.
More so, 2 gorilla families namely Bikyingi and Bushaho are undergoing through habituation experience in arugula sector Eastern of Bwindi Forest National park where broadbill is located.
Gorilla habituation permits cost $1500 for 4 hours interaction with the wild gorillas undergoing training.
Interestingly, each gorilla family is unique in its own kind.
The social characters of gorillas in every family, the number of individual gorillas, and history of gorilla family formation vary from family to family. Each gorilla family is visited by 8 people per day.
